I’m useless at DIY, so my friend Andrew graciously came round to help. (By help I mean he did all the hard work and I stood around a lot looking useless).

Hmm, apart from the after being cleaner what did he actually do? Just cosmetic stuff was it?

Did you put your amp directly on the floor? I wouldn’t do that, they can get very hot, and leave marks all over the floorboards.

@Simon
Built a L support (previous visit). Took out bolts in L support and counter sunk them. Filled bolt holes, and painted and L support to fit in with wall. Painted wall where heater was. Fixed several cracks. Cut and fitted cable box. Created wooden box to hide cables. Hung two paintings.
@Matt
My amp gets super hot but it tends to make marks upwards rather than down.

My old amp got super-hot too, and hat huge vents on the top to let the heat out. But as I had those vents partially obstructed, (as you do, with what I presume is your CD/DVD player) it got hotter still. When I took it out of the lovely oak TV unit we have, there were four big black spots where the feet were sitting.
The new one has rubber pads under the feet and a good inch of breathing room over it. Yours being in your nice wooden floor, I’d advise you do something similar, or it’s YOUR FUNERAL dude. Easier and cheaper to do that than replace one of your floorboards, anyway. Unless you’re going to do that thing you usually do where you refuse to admit you’re wrong.

The amp sits on the DVD player. The DVD player sits on the floor.
The amp has rubber feet and half an inch of breathing space under it.

I just liked watching the level of crisps in the bowl gradually drop.

8. Adrian
