I think their needs to be a word/expression (along the lines of earworm) that describes the experience of hearing a song or lyric that directly describes or corresponds to what you are doing at that exact instance.

For example as I crossed the road this morning to get the train station whilst trying to get my sunglasses out of it’s case, because the sun is now low and bears directly into the path I take to the train, I hear this “people are squinting to block out the sun” - Track 1 Global Underground 3009

Any suggestions?

Perhaps songranicity?

Singchronicity, perhaps?

Coincidence.

Good point Jack.

Although I want a word for the specific coincidence of a song/lyric with an event.

Singcadence?

Happentrance? (instead of happenstance).

I like happentrance, but think I’m going to go with Pix’s Singchronicity

Which felt right as I came home listening to Riloy Kiley - The Good That Won’t Come Out (Lyrics) as I was coming home and just before I got home heard the lyric Oh, you’re almost home.

The song also features the lyric Standing here on this frozen lake which I have heard as I was snowboarding down a mountain with a big frozen lake on the bottom.

Yes singchronicity and singocronous sounds about perfect.

I’d worry if this ever happened while listening to rap lyrics

“Yeah I was listening to Cop Killer just as I blew PC Plods head off - wierd eh?

…I got my twelve gauge sawed off. I got my headlights turned off. I’m ‘bout to bust some shots off. I’m ‘bout to dust some cops off.”
