Ross and Sevitz go for sushi at Itsu (Wardour street) prior to seeing the Simpsons movie (entertaining, really good episode, lots of laughs, not really a movie but fun down time).

  • Sevitz gets there first.
  • Sevitz sits.
  • Girl and mother arrive.
  • Girl plonks mother and bag down and disappears (bathroom?)
  • Ross arrives.
  • Girl returns.
  • Ross and Sevitz get a bottle of vino (rosé).
  • Ross and Sevitz grab some sashimi off the belt (new style tuna and salmon)
  • Ross and Sevitz, chat, drink and eat.
  • Ross kicks girls mothers shoes (I dunno either)
  • Ross and Sevitz land up talking to girl and mother.
  • Chat chat chat chat.
  • Mother says something about girl and school.

  • Sevitz thinks "please let that mean she's the teacher, please let that means she's the teacher, please please please"

We never confirmed if she was the teacher, but I think 17 probably was a little young for her to be teaching.

I have to say I found this post very confusing. Why would the girl be ‘the teacher?’ Who is the teacher?

Sigh.

So we’re out and land up chatting to a girl and her mom. So when the mom says about school, it’s pretty obvious she was too young.

By me saying I was hoping she was the teacher meant that I was saying maybe she wasn’t too you and was actually the teacher not the student, hence the title of the post.

Thing’s lose it when you have to explain it some times.

I thought we’d already established her age to be 17? Surely after that point her profession becomes irrelevant.

Other way round.

We established she was in school.

I thought “please let her be the teacher” (although obviously I knew she wasn’t)

Later on we established her age to be 17

So I said “That’s probably a bit young for a teacher” (i.e. saying maybe she still is the teacher then it would be ok)

It’s a bit like singing “we’re going to win 4-3” when you are 0-3 down and there are 5 minuets left of the footy match.

I should be disturbed by the thought of your chasing a genuine schoolgirl in front of her mother, but instead, I’m disturbed by the thought that I absolutely understood all of this the first time through, with no further explanation required, while even Destructor was confused. Have I been spending too much time with you and/or your blog?
