The diet ends today.
Lost: 14.4 kilograms
Lost: 7.4% body fat
About 10 months ago, I blogged about being overweight.
My target date is when I go skiing (actually going to try boarding) on Friday 7th January 2005. If I can loose 3.3 more kilos by then I’ll be happy. If I can loose 4.5 or more and bring my weight down to below 70kg’s I’ll be exceedingly happy.
Well, I've implemented the biggest set of moving targets possible, and every time I got close to a deadline or target, I shifted them to be a bit further down the line, and a bit tougher.
I now weight 66kg (that's 146lb in old money or just under 10½ stone). My body fat is 11% which means I have only 7.3kg of fat on me. That's under half the fat I had when I started. I actually picked a bit better than my current numbers, but I've slacked off a little as I lost weight, and even though my weight has gone up in the last few weeks my fat has remained more or less constant which means I'm putting on muscles (swoon ladies swoon)
Loosing this weight hasn't been easy. I've been in the gym more or less every morning at 6:30. I've run two races. I've cut out a whole lot of foods I love. It's been really tough work. Not only did I hit my original goal of getting below 70kg six weeks ahead of schedule, but I've kept the weight off. Which is more than I did the last time.
So today, I forget about the diet. I've got a whole wad of holiday coming up and boy am I going to enjoy it. I'm not giving a stuff about what I eat, or going to the gym. After the holidays, middle of September is, I'm going to start it up again, and maybe find those abs. But till then, I deserve the break and am going to enjoy life.
A friend kindly took the photos of me with my shirt off. In one respect I feel a bit daft, but after 60 weeks of hard work in the gym, I think I deserve to feel proud of looking good. So I've put the pictures up in my photoalbum. Although I'm not advertising the fact beyond this (and who's really going to read this far down).
