She's a really cute redhead (like that's a surprise) with a great smile, and fondness for wearing really short dresses. She's currently taken the spot in my heart that has previously been reserved for my one of my first loves.
Not withstanding how much I am in love with Jenny, last nights Rilo Kiley gig was one of the best gigs I have been to in a long time. Even better than U2. Or should that be 'Even better than the real thing'.
I've forgotten how nice is is to go to a small intimate gig, where I can actually see the band, where I can actually make eye contact with the gorgeous red-headed lead sing (she looked at me I know she did, she loves me too). I did this a lot when I first got to London, go to small bands that I never got a chance to see in SA that no one in the UK had heard of. The nice thing about a small gig of a relatively unknown band is that everyone there is really into the band which gives the gig so much more atmosphere. Also the audience was mainly early twenty studenty types which harks back to when I started going to these gigs.
Although not such a friendly audience when I had to escape for a slash half way through the gig. No one seemed to believe me that I wasn't pushing to the front but genuinely was there from the beginning but nature (and 3 beers) got the better of me. Shees cut a guy some slack. I'm a nice gig guy. Really I am.
The only embarrassing point of the night which was the support band. Not embarrassing in that they weren't that good (they weren't bad either, but not great), but in that I thought they were the main band. The security guy told us Rilo Kiley went on at 8:30, so when a band came out and played at 8:30 with a attractive Redhead as a lead singer, I thought it was Rilo Kiley. Found it a bit odd that I knew none of their songs. Thought maybe it was their first album they were playing. Look I listen to music on my iPod now, and MTV doesn't play Rilo Kiley so how am I meant to know. Was an innocent mistake. Anyway all confusion resolved when Rilo and Jenny came out and rocked.
There's blood in my mouth 'cause I've been biting my tongue all week
I keep on talkin' trash but I never say anything
And the talkin' leads to touchin'
and the touchin' leads to sex
and then there is no mystery left
