File under: Funniest thing I've heard all month. Possibly all year. And I've been to see stand up twice in the last 3 weeks.

Yip, it was only a matter of time before I put my foot in my mouth in a big way !!

There is a woman on the project. She is married. Her maiden name is [removed]. (I'm not sure why but she uses her maiden name at work). Her married name is Loony*.

Its common knowledge that she is having an affair with a fairly senior guy on the project.

I (and a few others were in a meeting with this guy). He makes some stupid statement about weekend work hours. My response was: 'You must be fucking loony if you think the entire team will willingly work the entire weekend'.
There is just stunned silence around the table.

* Ok this isn't her real name. I've changed it to protect not so much the innocent, but my friend who sent me the email. Suffice it to say, her real name fits in the sentence just as well. And no, I'm not going to tell you what it is. Nor who the email came from.

Hysterical. This is probably detrimental to the point, but I have to ask- what happened next?

Araxie, think stony silence.

Fran, it’s in the Thesaurus for loony.

I’d use my maiden name if I was married to Mr Jerky…
