So I've got this mate Ed. Ed normally drinks in a local bar called Caprica. Ok so Ed's not his real name. Caprica is not really the real name of the bar either. It's been changed to protect the innocent. Ok Ed's not all that innocent, but I've changed his name none the less.

So I get this in a mail from Ed today ...

Like, uh, the other night, I was in the Caprica, and, I was at the bar. Anyway, this guy I've never really met before, but I've seen working behind the bar, comes and sits next to me, he's like on his ten minute break. So I say hi and introduce myself, as I make it a point to know most of the staff at the Caprica. He says his name is Jim, he looks pretty wrecked. Katee comes by and serves me a beer, so I buy Jim a beer to cheer him up. Katee wanders off and I say to Jim, somewhat inadvisably:

"God, Katee's so cute. I've got such a crush on her. Do you know if she's single these days?"

"Yeah, actually she broke up with me about five minutes ago."

"Awesome!" I said without thinking, and then realized what a faux pas I'd made, and desperately tried to think of some way to cover up what I'd just said. I think I made some weird strangled noises and then rapidly excused myself. Quite embarrassing but also quite funny.

My friends are rock. My friends are so much better than your friends.

HAHAHA top stuff.

I hope hey got her number though. If he didn’t then MY friends are MUCH MUCH better than.. ohh no hang on. Two are gay, one’s engaged, one is never in the country long enough for a relationship and the other has just started his own company and doesn’t have time to “worry about that”.

Ok, you win.

I believe he did obtain said number. I think he isn’t going to call her thought, but pop round the bar and casually enquire as to when she is off shift.
