Paper-free billing from BT reduces the amount of paper you have to deal with - and the amount of paper we use - helping us all benefit the environment further.

Oh and also it saves us probably a £5 per person, per bill. But we wont pass that onto you, we'll just take it as pure profit. Oh and we'll pretend we're implementing this for the environment so you feel good and sign up making us even more money.

Thousand of people are coming back eh! Lies, damn lies, statistics & stuff BT says.

People are coming back to BT because you can’t get ADSL any other way, and frankly, compared to NTL (who are my only other broadband choice), BT are a shining example of competence and professionalism.

Thats a bit like compared to Pop Idol, the Spice Girls were a shining example of creativity.

Does that mean that here in little old backward Ireland we have more ADSL providers than in the UK? There’s four or five here like. And two of them do wireless ADSL access, so you don’t even need a frickin’ phone line.

They’re all crap though.

No, cause all those provider probably still require the use of the same telcom system. There are thousands of DSL providers here, but most all still hang off BT.

Are most of them crap like here though? If not all of them.

My sister uses ESAT err…BT… wireless and that doesn’t ‘hang’ off anything as you say, it’s all done through the ether…

It’s like MAGIC. Only not.

No many are good. Even the wireless offerings are connecting to your main telco ciruits at some point.

There is a differance between your Service Provider and your Network Operator. You’re talking about the former while Chris is talking about the latter.

Well, as long as you recycle them that’s ok I reckon. But are they printed on recycled paper?! I’ll wager they aren’t. Frickin’ harping on about saving trees and not even using recycled paper! Or something.

And another thing…

Vodaphone claim to donate any savings they make from anyone switching from paper bills to online billing to Conservation Volunteers Ireland. Well, Vodafone Ireland do anyway.

Do BT not do something similar? The theiving barstewards.

I had just elected to not receive paper bills from BT any longer, and then I saw your blog.

Freaky.

Changing DSL provider is too much hassle. Even changing from BT Openworld to BT Broadband meant two weeks offline. It would have been a lot longer had I chosen Nildram (my other preferred supplier).

So much for modern communications.

I changed from Zen to Pipex and it was done with no downtime, and some crossover time when both worked.
