So I get an email anonymously from my email form as below
fuck you....find something worthwhile to get pissed about...what a douche!
What bothers me though is not that I got hate mail (or should that be idiot mail), but that someone found my site (I am presuming though googling something completely inappropriate) and then felt it was necessary to take time out of their lives to find the contact form on my site (not leave a comment under a post), which would have been easier (but possibly slipped them by) and then take the time to send me an email trying to insult me.
It bothers me that their are people out their with such little disregard for the value of their own time that they can squander it on trying to ... well I'mnot sure what they were trying to do, as this isn't really going to send me into therapy. If you want to upset me you need to know me. Calling me a douche isn't going to do it. And let's be honest it isn't the most creative of insults either.
I mean this is a bit like me walking up to the girl I saw on the train on Friday with a pair of pink suede Timberlands and purple trousers and telling her that her outfit really wasn't working. I mean the outfit was painfully wrong, but I have better things to do with my time. And I am sure that if thats what she chose to wear she is either colour blind or knows what she is wearing and has elected not to care.
I'm not bothered that I got insulted. in fact i am quite happy to get hate mail. I'm just disturbed that their are people out there who have nothing better to do than send emails like this. I mean what happens if people like this got the vote or something ...
[postscript: I haven't entirely ruled out that it's one of my friends in which case I fully expect them to try wind me up. I will however be tracking these emails by IP address now ...]
